Intern and Program Manager

Ashaki Gilmer is a second-year advanced Master of Social Work student at The University of Texas at Arlington, with anticipated graduation in August 2026. She has held the position of Program Manager for three years and will now begin her MSW internship with Seven Pillars of Life, LLC, a private practice specializing in holistic and trauma-informed care. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Gilmer earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Fayetteville State University in July 2024, while her family was stationed at Fort Bragg. While interning for Northside Independent School District, she has gained experience working with school-age children, military families, individuals navigating trauma, and supporting families with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Her clinical interests include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused care, and working with military life. Outside of her academic and professional endeavors, she spends time with her three children and supports her husband in their military family life. She is also involved in community advocacy through her sorority organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA).Her enthusiasm for community-building drives personalized support initiatives, helping clients navigate life's dramatic changes. With empathy and clarity, Ashaki crafts meaningful connections that support ambitious transitions and sustained personal growth.
